The Division of Labor & Worker Safety
Consisting of one bureau, Wage & Hour, the Labor & Worker Safety Division (LAWS) receives its statutory authority from chapters 4109, 4111, 4115, and 4167 of the Ohio Revised Code (ORC).
Wage & Hour Bureau
The Wage & Hour Bureau is responsible for enforcing Ohio's labor laws as they pertain to wages, hours of work, and minor worker's safety.
The Bureau assists the public in understanding their rights and responsibilities under the wage and hour law, and pursues reported violations of the law. The Bureau also coordinates the activities of field staff, standardizes enforcement procedures, and interprets the rules and regulations associated with the ORC.
